I charge a flat fee of $150.00 per hour, plus expenses.

Those expenses have been itemized, as much as possible, in the Price List.  The quoted prices will be the billed prices until they are changed on this site.  This includes aerial photography, bar mitzvah, bat mitzvah, legal, medical and commercial photography services.

You will decide for yourselves how much time and which services will be needed.

My assignments are usually billed per hour, plus materials.  However, some assignments are priced per assignment, regardless of the time required to get the shots.  Still other assignments are bulk priced according to the actual volume of work received and time needed to complete the tasks at hand.

Within the State of California, the State Board of Equalization requires me to charge and to collect a Sales Tax on both my services and my materials produced for sale, unless the assignment is for the Government or for Resale.

This is called "Rule #1528".  Out of State assignments will not be charged a tax unless required by the Board.  I will confirm the issues with the Board before your assignment is bid.

My State EIN number will be on my invoices.

Once your project has been bid and accepted, the amount billed will equal the amount bid unless there have been requested changes.  All such changes will need to be approved at some point so that there is no conflict between the numbers bid and billed.

This includes aerial photography, bar mitzvah, bat mitzvah, legal, medical and commercial photography services.

I accept Cash, Check, Visa, MasterCard and Discover Cards.

I will not be able to accept American Express cards.

All charges will need to be approved in advance.  All charge payments will be taken- in person.  I do not accept internet or online charges.

All new clients will need to pay in advance or COD on delivery of the products.  Existing, approved clients will have a NET 30 pay period with an additional 2% Monthly Interest rate for Past Due invoices.

Some assignments will require advance Retainer Fees for a portion of the amount due.

Some aerial photography, bar mitzvah, bat mitzvah, legal, medical and commercial photography services will require periodic payments as will be determined and agreed in the contracts.

You will receive 1 DVD copy of your RAW files unless additional copies are ordered.

You can have me do as much or as little as you wish.  If all you want me to do is to shoot, you will receive all of the original camera RAW files.  It will be up to you to convert all of those RAW files properly.

If you would like for me to convert and to post produce your original camera RAW files, we will need to discuss the purpose of the images, the deadlines involved and the approved budgets included.  Depending on what you need the images for, they will have to be post-produced in a specific manner.  The purpose may affect the sizes and dpi resolutions required for the best possible output.

RAW files must be post-processed according to their intended use.  High definition publications require a specific type of file.

I will maintain two copies of all of your RAW, TIFF and JPEG files on DVD and on two 500GB, external, Seagate Hard Drives.

I will use the highest quality Fuji, single-sided, DVD+R discs, burned and verified at 4x, on my Sony 530A and Plextor optical drives.  Every disc will be image-verified before being released.  No labels or markings will be made on the discs themselves.

Accelerated aging studies have shown that basic, single-sided discs have a shelf life of about 5 years.

After that time, they may begin to delaminate or to "rot" away.  Once this process begins, your data will no longer be accessible.

I recommend that you burn additional discs as time goes by, or move the data over to your own external hard drive.

Initially, I will convert your original camera RAW files to small 100dpi, sRGB, 1mb, 4x5 JPEG files for your image review and selection process.  You may copy the image discs as you wish.

Your selections can then be converted to 300dpi or 600dpi, sRGB, 8 or 16 bit, sharpened and Photoshopped JPEG and TIFF files, in any size from 1"x2" to 30"x40".   The larger, higher resolution files will take much longer for some computers to open.  The larger file sizes will also require more discs to store the data.

I can put your images directly onto your own hard drive and deliver or ship that drive to you.

Your huge TIFF files will make the best prints.  Your small JPEG files should only be used for your emails.  You can't email TIFF files and you shouldn't print JPEGs.

Your small JPEG files contain very little, but highly compressed, digital data.  The best, enlarged, high-resolution, photographic prints  are made with huge TIFF files, with vast amounts of color and high resolution data.

If you print from any JPEG file, the colors will be muddy and the image will be "noisy" and soft.

I will post-produce your files in any size you need to meet your needs.  The larger the final required size, the larger the file.  A 4x5 print will need about 7mb of sRGB, 8 bit, TIFF file information.  A 16x20 print will need about 85mb of sRGB, 8 bit, TIFF file information.  You can print a 16x20 from a 7mb file but it will not be pretty.

Depending on the assignment, a few sample JPEG images can be emailed to you.

Production Values

Once the "clock starts", I don't take breaks, eat, drink or smoke.  Part of the Booking Process includes a complete timeline and shot list.  Nothing will be left to chance.  Each event will be choreographed ahead of time so that every goal and objective will be met without stress or trouble.

I always dress in a tux, dark business suit or clothing to match the approved theme of the event.

I shoot at a rate that varies with each assignment.  Typically, I average about 100-200 shots per hour of service.

But that depends on the assignment.  When I am on-station, in the helicopter, I can easily shoot 1 frame every 3 or 4 seconds.

There is no limit to the number of shots that are possible.  If the event is a small, intimate affair, 150 total images might be all that is required.  Larger assignments will demand larger volumes of pictures to be taken.

I have worked in the studio and on location.  I am location-portable in that all of my professional studio lighting, stage, control and support equipment can be shipped and set up on location.

I don't charge rental rates for most of this extra gear.  However, the added time required to prepare, load, transport, unload, stage and strike the extra gear will be billed.  Some locations require specific Union assistance, setups days in advance and tear-downs days later.  Permits, fees, parking charges, travel expenses, professional talent, Fire, Police and Highway Patrol factors will be billed directly to you.

I have experience shooting insurance and re-staged traffic scenes, investigations, cars, food, people, executives, political and movie VIP's, buildings, boat races, construction sites, equipment, crime scenes, evidence, events, products, surgical procedures and concepts.  I have worked from 250 feet below ground to 15,000 feet above.  I don't shoot under water or in rainy, wet environments.  I will not risk loss or damage to my gear.

Contracts

I work from both verbal and written agreements.  I want everyone to understand ahead of time what will need to be done, when it will be due, what the budget will be, where it will be delivered and when it will be paid.  I want to make sure who will be contacted and what my responsibilities will be.

I am obsessive about the tiny details.

I guarantee my results 100%.

I am available by phone 100% of the time.  If I am in a shoot or out of the office, just leave a message.  I will return your call within an hour or as soon as I am free to speak.

E-mails are checked and responded to within hours.

I don't deal with text messages.  I'd rather talk directly with you.
